The Jaguar XK is now placed in the supercar performance territory

The Jaguar XK is now placed in the supercar performance territory with a new five litre V8 engine with either 380bhp in the standard XK or 503bhp in the XKR.

The Jaguar XK is capable of 0-62mph in 5.2 seconds and the XKR in a breathtaking 4.6 seconds which is only half a second behind the Ferrari California. This car handles as well as a Porsche 911 with superb ride quality and quick sharp steering. The new Jaguar XK is a hatchback so access to the luggage compartment is excellent.

Inside the cabin it is a mixture of new and traditional materials with all the instruments now restyled.

There is all the usual stability and traction control programmes plus anti lock brakes that vary the pressure at each wheel. There is also Jaguars Protec dynamic headrest system which minimises whiplash injury. Prices for the new Jaguar XK start at £59,900 for the 5.0 V8 Auto, £64.900 for the 5.0 V8 Portfolio Auto and £78,400 for the 5.0 V8 R Auto.
