Kia Motors has hit a new record with a whopping 5,176 sales in the month of May which is a 33% increase compared to May 2011. Michael Cole, Managing Director of Kia Motors (UK) Limited said "to post a new record May as we were getting ready to replace cee'd with the all-new model was particularly pleasing and it shows that our dealers are continuing to pull lots of new customers into the brand. I am very hopeful that with the launch of the new cee'd this performance will continue so that we can reach our sales goal for this year of up to 65,000 vehicles.”
The new Kia c’eed went on UK sale on June 1 and the May record was reached despite the previous version of the five-door hatchback being in run-out. The new model is more sophisticated, more efficient and more refined than its predecessor. It is both longer and lower than the previous model giving the five-door hatchback a more sporty profile.
The new Kia cee’d is offered in a range of ten exterior colours including five new ones and will be the first to show the new look Kia badge on its bonnet. The interior boasts soft-touch surfaces and high-quality materials. A comprehensive list of standard equipment includes electrically adjustable heated door mirrors, tilt and telescopic steering wheel adjustment, a height-adjustable driver's seat, air conditioning, steering wheel-mounted controls, front electric windows, projection headlights, daytime running lights, remote central locking, a cooled glovebox, a flat-folding 60:40 split rear seat, ambient front lighting, an iPod-compatible audio system with radio and CD player, USB port and Bluetooth connectivity, ESP and VSM, HAC (Hill-start Assist Control), six airbags and speed-sensitive auto door locking.
