Kia Motors is “batting” for the England Women's Cricket Team as its official partner – so set-up the stumps. The manufacturer – that produces capable cars and has a high “bowling average” – will therefore provide nineteen Sportage cars over the next two years. This crossover class vehicle is available with two or four-wheel-drive, manual or automatic transmission, has respectable handling, plenty of equipment and a spacious boot. It is, therefore, capable of transporting the team and their bats to matches in comfort. Kia Motors UK is the sole title sponsor so has a wide range of marketing opportunities including in-ground promotion. Its sponsorship is a logical step as it has been supporting county cricket for some time. The manufacturer will first makes its presence felt when the ladies “bend the back” against India at Wormsley Cricket Ground in August 2014. The team must then “come to the crease” to face Australia at the Women’s Ashes Test in 2015. Expectations are high that they can succeed in these arenas – without accidentally knocking a cricket ball through the windscreen of any sponsor cars.
