Mazda MX-5 passes the 100,000 mark
Sales of the Mazda MX-5 have passed the 100,000 mark in the UK
Sales of the Mazda MX-5 have passed the 100,000 mark in the UK. The 100,000th Mazda MX-5 was bought by Dr Helen Jones from Cheshire.
The Mazda MX-5 has proven to be the UK&rsquo s most popular sportscar, with British motorists accounting for over 10 percent of global sales and 40 percent of European sales since the Mazda&rsquo s MX-5&rsquo s introduction in 1990.
The new Mazda MX-5 is better than the older models in terms of quality and refinement, the interior is much improved with some nice new shapes and everything has a feeling of quality engineering.
There is a surprising amount of space available in the Mazda MX-5 thanks to some clever attention of detail on the part of the design team. There is plenty of cubby storage action available in the cabin together with a decent boot even when the hood is stowed. In the UK the Mazda MX-5 earned the title of &lsquo Best Sports Car&rsquo in its class in the 2010 JD Power vehicle ownership satisfaction survey and has won the &lsquo Best Roadster&rsquo title for the fifth time-in-a-row at the 2010 Auto Express New Car Awards.
