The new BMW 1 Series 116i M Sport is available on an attractive finance offer with no monthly payments for two years. The car is capable of 0-60mph in 8.5 seconds and can reach a top speed of 130 mph.
Standard features include air conditioning, electric mirrors, CD and MP3/iPod Connection, Bluetooth, electric windows front and rear, and alloys.
The entry-level petrol, the turbocharged 116i, is all most buyers will need, with strong and smooth acceleration throughout the rev range. It offers competitive fuel economy and CO2 emissions make it surprisingly cheap to run, especially the116d ED version.
The 1 Series scored five-out-of-five for safety on Euro NCAP’s latest crash testing programme, and all models in the line-up get six airbags and stability control as standard.
Interior quality is generally impressive, the boot is narrow and shallow, but folding down the rear seats gives a large, flat loadbay. If you’re prepared to sacrifice space and refinement for a sporty drive, the BMW 1 Series is well worth a look.
