Impressive updates to exterior and interior to new BMW Z4

The new BMW Z4 has arrived, prices start at £27,610 for this popular sports car and there are some impressive updates that include the overall performance of the car as well as the exterior and the interior.

The exterior of the new BMW Z4 is now more up to date the changes are only minor, the headlights include white LED corona rings and a white ‘eyebrow’ with additional chrome detailing, the side gill features chrome detailing and LED side repeater lights. Three new colours are offered; Mineral Grey, Glacier Silver and Valencia Orange and two new styles of alloy wheel, 17-inch and an 18-inch V-spoke styling. All these enhancements to the exterior give the car a much more modern look. There are a total of eleven external paint finishes available for the new BMW Z4, including the new Mineral Grey metallic, Glacier Silver metallic and Valencia Orange metallic, which can only be ordered together with the Design Pure Traction option.

The optional BMW Individual hardtop is available in the two contrast colours Black non-metallic and Glacier Silver metallic, the hardtop can be opened at the touch of a button while the car is moving at up to 25 mph in an automated process which lasts only nineteen seconds. When the roof closes, it seals a smoothly flowing roofline, while large window surfaces optimise all-round visibility and the feeling of great space inside the car.

The new interior additions to the standard specification include high-gloss black surrounds for the central air vents and the iDrive control system’s folding Control Display, which comes as part of the optional Professional navigation system. Beautiful Anthracite wood has been added to the selection of interior trim strips available as an option for the new BMW Z4. The BMW Z4 sDrive28i, BMW Z4 sDrive35i and BMW Z4 sDrive35is are offered with Kansas leather trim, which is available as an option for the two other models.

Improvements on performance

The performance has improved, the BMW Z4 sDrive20i comes with an 184hp engine that returns 41.5mpg with co2 emissions at approximately 159g/km. The sDrive 18i is new to the range and is capable of 0-62mph in just 7.9 seconds; this version returns an impressive 41.5mpg and records Co2 emissions of 159g/km this is the entry model of the range. The sDrive18i is fitted as standard with a six-speed manual gearbox, but an eight-speed sports automatic can also be ordered as an option.

Standard specification for the new BMW Z3 includes xenon headlights, air conditioning, and a heated glass rear window, the Soft Close Automatic function for the boot lid and runflat tyres with a run-flat indicator. The BMW Business radio including CD player, AUX-IN socket and six loudspeakers is also a standard feature in all the variants of the Roadster, while customers can also choose from options including the BMW Professional radio and the Professional hi-fi-system with 14 loudspeakers. So when summer arrives and the roof is down the music will be loud, very loud!
