New Ford C-Max Exceeds Sales Expectations
The all new Ford C-Max has surpassed all sales expectations
The all new Ford C-Max has surpassed all sales expectations; together with the Ford Grand C-Max sales have passed the 100,000 mark. To meet the demand Ford has increased the line speed at its plant in Valencia Spain resulting in an 18% increase in daily production at the plant.
The Ford C-Max and Ford Grand C-Max boast an all-new four-cylinder 1.6-litre 150PS Ford EcoBoost engine which comes with a new six-speed manual gearbox. This gearbox also accompanies the 1.6 TDCi and 2.0 TDCi powertrains, which are jointly projected to account for around 50 per cent of sales. Of the 8,132 UK sales through to May, the most popular powertrain proved to be the 1.6 TDCi 115PS which represents 45 per cent. Coupled with the 1.6 105PS, 1.6 125PS and 1.6 150PS petrol powertrain sales, 80 per cent of the C-MAX and Grand C-MAX's chosen by customers include engines that are built at the Bridgend plant in Wales or at Dagenham, Essex.
Prices start from £17,195 for the Ford C-MAX and £19,195 for the Ford Grand C-MAX; all boast the maximum five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP and have Thatcham Category 1 alarm, DAB radio, Bluetooth and USB connectivity as standard.
