The New Year is here and sometimes that means ‘change’ and Skoda has decided to change existing model lines over to its new logo

The New Year is here and sometimes that means ‘change’ and Skoda has decided to change existing model lines over to its new logo. The Skoda Citigo was the first model to feature the new revised logo followed by the Skoda Rapid and now it’s the time of the Fabia and the Roomster.

The new logo appears in several places both on the outside and inside of the cars, it is on the bonnet, at the rear, on the centre cover of the wheels and/or on the wheel trims, on the steering wheel, the engine cover and on the vehicle key. The Skoda lettering appears in a new typeface and for the first time the Skoda lettering will be at the rear of the car on the Fabia and the Roomster. The new logo brings Skoda a more up to date modern design, the winged arrow is precisely contoured and stands out in chrome on a black-matte background framed by a fine chrome line. The current laurel wreath and integrated Skoda lettering will no longer be included in the new logo.

The Skoda Fabia is a popular little supermini, it is extremely spacious inside for a small car with plenty of head and legroom, the boot capacity is also impressive with three hundred litres with the seats in place and this increases to 1163 litres when they are folded. The 1.2 returns 49mpg on the combined cycle which is something many small diesels would be proud of. All versions come with twin front and side airbags and this reliable and safe supermini achieved a four-star crash test rating from Euro NCAP.

The Skoda Roomster has already undergone a slight facelift which gives it a more dynamic appearance with a redesigned wider front grille and new headlights which strangely optically widen the Roomster as you look at it. The Roomster is generously equipped for a small car, it has a wide range of standard equipment including remote central locking and manual air conditioning plus there is an array of options allowing you to specify the car you want.

Skoda have moved into a new growth phase and they believe that by the year 2018 they will have increased their worldwide sales to at least 1.5 million per year. Skoda’s new modern and fresh appearance will clearly help that happen so watch and see.
