Nissan 370Z Coupe
New Nissan quicker than the Porsche Cayman
The original Nissan 350Z is the best selling sports car in the world with 1.7 million sold. Nissan have now launched the new Z, the 370Z Coupe. The new engine under the bonnet is a 3.7 litre V6. The car can achieve a top speed of 155 mph and is capable of 0 -62 mph in 5.3 seconds which is quicker than the Porsche Cayman. The brakes have been improved to cope with the extra power. There is a new seven speed paddle shift auto box that adds extra dimension to the standard six speed manual, this is an optional extra and comes in at a price of £1400.
The car is slightly smaller than the 350Z and is lighter due to the use of lightweight aluminium. The exterior design cuts a sleek aerodynamic shape, with new arrow shaped lights front and rear and a deep low grille. The interior design continues the Z tradition of enhancing driving pleasure, the sculpted seats and door trim are in a rich suede/velour. A full length centre console separates the driver and passenger’s seat and in the rear is an open luggage area with enhanced storage and accessibility. A retractable cover is standard on the 370Z and a locking glove compartment has been added.
Nissan have followed the success of the 350Z by pricing the new 370Z at a reasonable and sensible price. The standard car starts at £26,895 the GT goes up to £30,195 and the ultimate version with the auto box is from £31 895.
