Skoda Citigo Wins Green Award
Model Voted Best Supermini
The Skoda Citigo has picked up the ‘Best Supermini’ award for the fourth year running in the international Green Apple Awards, which promote environmental best practice.
Judges praised the popular supermini for its quality, practicality and low running costs.
The popular vehicle comes with a choice of two highly economical engines, the CO2 outputs start at just 95g/km and fuel economy returns an impressive 68.9mpg.
One Green Apple Awards judge said: “The Citigo is the perfect demonstration of how a car can be economical, inexpensive, beautifully built and a pleasure to drive.”
Following the success of the Citigo, Skoda launched a more sporty model, the Citigo Sport. This new version boasts black 15” ‘Auriga’ design alloy wheels, tinted ‘sunset’ windows, a sports suspension that lowers the ride height by 15mm and to finish the look a racing stripe. There is also a bespoke styling kit that includes a front and rear spoiler and a rear diffuser.
The Sport is offered in three colours that include Candy White with red stripes, Tornado Red with black stripes and Deep Black with red stripes.
The Green Apple Award is the latest in a long line of prestigious titles won by the Citigo. In 2012 it was awarded Car of the Year by Auto Express, along with the 2012 What Car? Green Award and the 2013 Driver Power Best Small Car title. Prices for the award winning car start from £8,210
