The First Ever Lookers’ Supercar Event Goes Down as a Roaring Success

A triumphant debut event from Lookers as they host a Supercar Track Day at Croft Racing circuit in aid of The Prince’s Trust.

On Wednesday the 27th of May we headed down to Croft Racing Circuit in Darlington, North Yorkshire, to join a fundraiser in aid of The Prince’s Trust. The event was organised in memory of John Walls who was an incredibly successful businessman as well as a proactive charity worker. John was the Chairman of the Prince’s Trust Development Committee in the North East.

Throughout the day guests were let loose in a number of the worlds most exclusive and prestigious supercars from manufacturers such as Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, Ferrari, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Maserati, Mclaren and Mercedes Benz (to name a few.)

Single-seat vehicles were also available on the day, allowing attendees to really experience some track-action from the exposed drivers seat of either a Caterham or a Ginetta.

Another popular attraction to the day was the Paul Swift precision driving school. Paul Swift is a Guinness world record holder and a professional stunt driver, you will have seen his work on countless films and Top Gear episodes over the years. The workshop taught a number of valuable lessons… such as performing high speed J-turns as well as how to slide a car between two parked vehicles using the handbrake.

The fourth and final part of the day was the off-road & rally experiences where guests were challenged to negotiate tougher terrain, such as rivers and steep gradients, in rugged 4x4 Land Rovers. Guests were also taken on a frighteningly quick ride-along in fully prepared rally vehicles on a muddy off-road circuit, with an expert rally driver at the pedals - just to make sure nobody left the event without being sufficiently ‘shaken up’.

The event climaxed at the 5 Star Rockliffe Hall Hotel, located on the banks of the River Tees, where guests were treated to a meal with guest speakers and a charity auction, raising money for the Prince’s Trust.

Chris Green, Sales and Media Director at Motoring.co.uk, stated 'We would like to thank Lookers and the events team for putting on a truly fabulous experience for all who attended, and of course for raising so much money for a genuine and meaningful cause such as The Princes Trust.'

Overall the Lookers Supercar Track Day was a fantastic opportunity to experience some of the best motoring experiences available, while raising money for a fantastic cause. An absolute pleasure to attend.

It has since been confirmed that a grand total of £15,000 was raised for The Princes Trust, a fitting tribute to the memory of John Walls.
